Mission StatementBoard of Trustees

The mission of the Fraser Lake Public Library Board is to open doors to a world of information, education, and recreation, thereby enhancing the economic, social, and cultural vitality of our community.

Board Meetings

Held the last Tuesday of each month at 7:00pm, the board of trustees and head librarian all meet together in the library. This meeting is open to the public, but please note there are no meetings in July or August or December.

Annual General Meeting

The Annual General Meeting (AGM) is held on the last Tuesday in February. This is also open to the public. If you would like to attend,  please, contact us for a more information.

Our Objectives

  • To assemble, preserve and administer, in organized collections, books and related educational and recreational material in order to promote through guidance and stimulation, the communication of ideas, an enlightened citizenship and enriched personal lives.
  • To provide opportunity and encouragement for children, young people, and adults, to educate themselves continuously.
  • To serve the community as a reliable source of information.
  • To provide a place where original, sometimes unorthodox and critical ideas may be encountered by all the citizenry, to act as correctives and stimulants to our free society.
  • To seek continually to identify community needs, or provide programs of service to meet such needs, and to co-operate with other organizations, agencies, and institutions which can provide programs or services to meet community needs.
  • To support educational, civic, and cultural activities of other groups and organizations.
  • To provide opportunity for recreation through the use if literature and other resources as may be available to the library, such as recording or films.
  • To provide the best library services possible within the library’s resources to every resident of the community free of charge.
  • To continually re-examine and revise library policy in order to meet the changing needs of the community.
